Well hello hello. It has been a while since we made a video.
We are now back in Canada having finished our India trip about a month ago. Yeah, it is kind of confession time. I think we've been home for actually even longer. More like 6 or 7 weeks. It has been a while. It has been a while. I almost feel camera shy. Like we haven't recorded ourselves in a really long time so yeah check this website. We've been back in Canada for a while now. And we've been editing all of the video footage we've shot in India and now that we're done with that we thought we should share a few travel tips for India and just maybe talk a little bit more about our experiences. So that is what our video is going to be like. We're going to be doing also kind of like a budget breakdown so if you see us staring down at our computers that is what we're doing. Yeah exactly and this will be a little bit different than the city guide tips we did because we're doing this kind of as a general country. The whole country. For all of India. Yeah. Let's get started. So first up let's talk money matters and the exchange. So right the currency exchange is $1 USD = 64 Rupees. Yeah. Exactly. And India can be as cheap or as expensive destination as you want it to be. Yes. Back in 2010, the first time I visited India, I was an ultra hardcore backpacker. And I think for like the entire month if I remember correctly I spent less than five hundred US dollars so it was one of the cheapest destinations I've ever been to. But on this particular trip we were like more in the mid-range section I would say. Yeah, I would say we stayed in 3 star hotels. Yeah, most of the time. The majority of the time. So just to give you guys an idea of what you can expect to spend. A cup of chai on a train is $0.15 cents. If you're staying in a dorm room those start for as little as $2 dollars. Super cheap. Yeah. Super cheap. Super cheap. If you're going to be staying in a 3 star hotel like what we were doing those were usually about $25 US dollars. And you can plus or minus ten to fifteen dollars depending where you are. In a really big city it is going to be a bit more. Like Delhi and Kolkata were more. But in some of the smaller places we went to like Jaisalmer and Jodhpur it was a little bit cheaper. Yeah, so. And when we were eating out in restaurants having a vegetarian dinner for 4 people that was usually around $10 dollars. So very affordable. And again you can get cheaper with that or also more expensive too. So yeah, India is a great country to fit any kind of budget to be honest. You can travel with next to nothing or you can go luxury the whole way. In terms of travel in India in this exact moment one particular thing that you should be aware of as a traveler is the demonetization and cash crisis issue. When we were traveling certain ATMs didn't have cash and the reason being that certain old bills were demonetized.

Which of these knitting items to you think were confiscated by TSA on my last flight? Hi, guys! I'm Kristen and welcome to Studio Knit. This is a little game I like to call the 'TSA TRAVEL CHALLENGE FOR KNITTERS.' This is a great time to travel and I'm sure you would love to knit your favorite project on your next flight. So, let's take a look at all of the allowed knitting tools! But first, I'm super excited to let you know today's video is being sponsored by Best Fiends. Some of my favorite YouTubers were playing this game and it has become my new go-to travel obsession when I need a little break from knitting.
Best Fiends is a free puzzle adventure game where you collect and build a team of Fiends to defeat slugs by matching same-colored objects. Hmmm... I wonder, do you think TSA allows us to pack actual slugs? So, you know, when I need a break from my knitting, this game is perfect for long travel because time totally flies by as I try to level up. Today, I’m on level 41, so try to beat me and tell me what level you are on! This month, you can play the Easter Egg Challenge where you can win amazing and rare rewards! If you beat all 16 challenges, you’ll win the all-new bunny character! So, download this game FOR FREE, I have a link down in the description below, and if you download now, you will get $5 worth of gold and diamonds for free! I'm pretty sure that's virtual gold and diamonds! So, it was this cute little yarn cutting pendant that got confiscated. I suppose they do not appreciate weaponized jewelry. I feel like a superhero with it, being able to cut yarn with this little pendant on my necklace, but I learned my lesson. Now, none of these rules are hard and fast and they often change, especially with a TSA agent's disposition that day. So, let's look at the ways to maximize our opportunity that we will be able to carry these knitting tools onto our plane. Now, luckily, knitting needles are totally fine. The preferred knitting needles are plastic or wood, over metal. And even better are circular needles. Now there's no length limit. However, when it comes to tools, TSA seems to prefer any tool under 7 inches. If you can knit with really short needles, that's great. You know, circular needles are perfect, as well. They really seem to treat those less like daggers if a vampire happens to be on the plane. And you can knit with circular needles exactly as you do with your straight needles. So, that is a really good bet, especially with these really cute bamboo circular needles. I'll have links down in the description below to everything I'm sharing with you. Now, scissors! Yes, you actually can carry scissors. If you want to be super safe, you could bring nail clippers, but you also could bring these cute little scissors. They prefer scissors to be 4 inches in length or less and to be very considerate to your TSA agent, it is preferred to wrap the pointy edges of any tools that you're bringing so that they don't accidentally poke themselves. Now, yarn, okay, yarn you can bring any kind of yarn you want. Basically, weight restrictions are really the only thing that hold me back from packing as much yarn as I possibly can. And, I always like to put it in plastic and then into a little travel bag because if it's being handled, I really don't like the idea of other people touching my yarn. And little tapestry needles, as well, are totally fine. Just make sure that they're packed in something that will not poke them at all. Again, TSA rules can often change. Now, if you want to be super prepared, do not pack anything that has great sentimental value or is super expensive. You could also bring a self-addressed stamped envelope, like a padded envelope, and then if anything like my little pendant does get confiscated, you can slip it into that, mail it back home. So, whether it is a quick little island hop or a long international flight, I hope you feel a little bit more prepared to board your flight with appropriate knitting tools that are totally allowed on your plane. And if you are playing Best Fiends, let me know down in the comments below. I am obsessed and it is a really great break from your knitting, so go check it out! Thanks so much for watching, guys! And happy travels! Bye! I always do that! Hey guys, Jordan Page for Millennial Moms here. Guess who went on a cruise recently? Yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
I did, it's true, we just got back. We brought two of our kids with us and I have got loads of tips for how to cruise and even just travel in general with kids. Let's get straight on to it, shall we? (upbeat music) To save costs on traveling, pack your own activities for your kids because sure they've got stuff in the airport, but even the simplest little coloring book, $11. You can get this kind of stuff for half that, for less at other stores, so take the time before your trip to pack a backpack for your kids, full of just little activities and little fun things to do for the plane, but also for the airport and hotels. My mind is blown right now, here's a tip everyone needs to know about. Here's us, the lame-os with our towels from the room that are heavy and bulky and they never dry out. Alas, our smarter friends ordered these for how much? - $11.95 for this size. - Yeah. - [Male] So, it's five feet long, maybe 30 inches. - Oh, it's skinny. Perfect size for a-- - [Female] Okay, put your foot right here. - Oh wow, okay watch this. Sand doesn't stick to it, sand doesn't stick to it, and this whole little thing roles up tiny and-- - Dries out in probably 10 minutes. - It's amazing, so forget it, no more beach towels in our house. Amazon, $11.99. But wait, there's more, it comes in green, and if you buy in the next 30 minutes I'll throw in a child. There you go, I hope that helps. So, whether you're going on a cruise or whether you're just traveling in general with kids, hopefully these tips were helpful. If you wanna see more details about our family trip, our cruise, I have blogged all about it over on my personal channel and on my blog, funcheaporfree.com, so check it out there. Have you cruised with kids before? Let me know in the comments below and share any tips you have. To see yesterday's video, click here, to see more from me, click up here, and to subscribe, right here. Okay, that's it, love you guys. Gotta go catch up some sleep now, bye. Many people wanting to transition into working from home can't wait an entire month for their first paycheck. Maybe you can't even wait two weeks for your first paycheck. In today's video, we are gonna be talking about some legitimate ways to make money from home that pay weekly, and they also pay more than pennies as well. These are gigs that can actually help you pay the bills. And make sure you stay till the end of the video to find out how you can get my seven day series on finding work at home free https://www.casinoslots.co.nz.
Now, one big surprise to many of those that are looking to transition into working from home is that there are quite a few companies out there that only pay their contractors once per month. That can be a long wait if you are making the leap from a full-time job to working at home, or maybe you've been laid off and need to get back into the workforce right away. In today's video, I'm gonna be sharing a few of the opportunities with you that are gonna pay you a good hourly wage and are also gonna pay you every week. That'll help make the transition a little more easy. Now, the first opportunity we're talking about today are call center jobs. Now, customer service work may not be your dream job, but they are some of the most readily available jobs in the work-at-home world, and in many cases, they're gonna pay you an hourly wage, and they're gonna pay you consistently, whether that be weekly, biweekly, or monthly. The jobs we're focusing on today are gonna be paying you weekly. Now, a few that I would like you to consider, there's one called Blue Zebra. They are going to be appointment setters and virtual assistants, and the pay with them is gonna range from $15 to $25 an hour, and they also offer regular raises based on your performance. And this is one that is gonna pay you weekly like we discussed earlier. Westat is a company that focuses on telephone data collectors, and this position starts at about 8.25 an hour, and they also will pay you every week. Now, another great gig for newcomers to the work-at-home world is transcription. And what you're doing in these positions is basically listening to an audio file and typing it out into text. Now, this one, you just need a keen ear and some excellent typing skills, and it's gonna be performance-based pay. So the faster your can type and the more accurate you can type, the better wage that you can earn. Babbletype is one that hires newcomers, and their pay averages around $10 an hour. Rev.com is another popular one in the work-at-home community. They pay 40 to 65 cents per audio minute, but they require no experience. And TranscribeMe is another one that's open to beginners that pays weekly, and they start around $20 per audio hour. Now, what you need to realize about per audio hour, it means that that isn't how long it takes you to type the file. That's its file length in total. So if it takes you three hours to type one audio hour, that $20 an hour is gonna end up being around $7 an hour, so that's where it really comes into play that it's necessary for you to have fast and accurate typing skills. Now, another really popular opportunity within my community is website testing. Now, website testing which you are doing is visiting a website and providing your feedback. Maybe you are telling the client how easy it is to navigate their site or not so easy. Are the colors off-putting? Is their branding consistent? Do you get a clear feel for what their site is about? Those are all things that customers are looking for when they hire these website testing companies. Now, these gigs aren't gonna be really consistent. They are gonna come into your inbox every now and again, and you do need to act quickly to pick them up, but there are a lot of companies that offer these gigs. And it's really a fast and easy way to make a few bucks. Usually these testing gigs only take about 20 minutes to complete, and usually the pay is around $10 per test. A couple of them that you might wanna check out are UserTesting, Userfeel, and TestMyUI. Depending on your background, there may be some other opportunities that you want to explore. If you have some teaching experience or a bachelor's degree, there is a big demand right now for online tutoring in the English as a second language department. Many times those don't require teaching experience or a teaching degree. You simply need to have that bachelor's degree, and sometimes there's a few other requirements involved as well. And those don't pay too shabby, and there are a few companies that will pay you weekly, such as Cambly, Chegg, or NiceTalk. These are just a few of the great opportunities that are available that will pay you weekly.
If you are interested in a career in Human Resources, then you will need to get a bachelor's degree or higher. Instead of going to a college campus to take classes, you can earn your degree online. Students can earn a bachelor's, master's or even a doctorate degree in human resources all online. There are many colleges and universities that offer these online degree programs for students that wish to take advantage of them. Blue people The way the economy has been as of late, it is important that a company has good people working for them. A good human resources department is a big part of this since they are the ones that scout talent for the company to hire. In addition to finding people to fit jobs, they must also coach those employees that are already working there. The human resources managers are responsible for finding the top employees that the company can utilize for important tasks. The better a company's workforce is, the better the company will be. The job of the human resources department is not only to find the top workers in their field, but to keep them working for their company. This is something that any valuable human resources employee or manager will be able to do. When you have a degree in human resources combined with experience working in the field, you can set yourself up for a promising career in human resources. When you take online classes in human resources, you will learn to take the theories related to academics and apply them to real life situations. The type of classes you take in a human resources degree program will usually include mentoring, leadership, coaching, ethics and more. You will also be trained in a number of career training areas that include evaluating the performance of employees, selecting viable candidates to fill positions, learning about compensation and benefits, the structure of an organization, training employees, keeping employees and dealing with a turnover rate at a company. Online classes can also teach you about the social and psychological aspects of being in a work environment and how these things affect employees that you have to deal with. You basically have to understand how all the different cultural forces out there affect employee relations and how decisions in an organization are made. The needs of a company when it comes to staff usually determines how many human resource workers they will need. A company that is growing will need more employees and, therefore, they will need more human resource representatives to handle the hiring and orientation of new employees. Human resource workers can be hired as full time members of staff or just temporarily to be consultants while new employees are being hired. A group of office workers An online course in human resources can start you off on a great career path right away. A lot of human resource graduates can start off with pretty good jobs right after graduating. Some of the entry level salaries are also pretty enticing. It is very possible for those just out of college to get a job with a starting salary of over $40,000 a year. The pay will only go up as you gain more experience and spend more time working in your field. The more skills you learn, the more you can lean toward a special area of human resources to focus on. You can start to focus on an area like business coaching, corporate recruiting and more. There are also areas like corporate compensation planning, diversity in the workplace, consulting, law and many other areas that a human resource worker can focus on. You can also be a consultant to companies that have outsourced their human resources departments. If you work your way up to being a human resources manager, then you can have an opportunity to make a lot of money. In 2007, the median salary for a human resources manager was nearly $93,000. In order to become a manager, you must possess a certain level of education and experience. You must also be rather accomplished in the world of human resources. Human resources is definitely a good career path for those that are interested in this area of expertise Once you’ve decided to go to graduate school, the next step is to explore your options and choose a program. As you look at all of the different graduate schools out there, it’s likely that you’ll find a wide variety of both online and campus-based schools offering the specific program you’re most interested in. For some students, completing their graduate school program 100% online offers tremendous advantages, but others might be far more interested in attending a traditional brick and mortar graduate school. It’s important that you identify your own personal learning style and figure out which type of graduate school will be best for you. To help make your decision and answer on all your questions, read our summary of the main pros and cons of online vs. campus-based programs: Online Graduate Programs Pros: Affordability Many online graduate programs offer substantially cheaper tuition rates in comparison to their on-campus competitors. The remote learning style of online education reduces many of the major costs faced by brick-and-mortar institutions, so you can expect to find amazingly reasonable tuition rates at some online universities who pass those savings on to their graduate students. If you’re on a tight budget, but are keen to go to graduate school, attending an online program may be in your best financial interest. Luxury of Studying Anywhere Studying online gives you the luxury of being able to study absolutely anywhere you have an internet connection. This is great if you’re constantly on the move, such as if you’re in the military or have a job that requires a lot of travel. What’s more, you’ll save a boatload by avoiding the daily commute to class and by saving yourself the costs of relocating to a new city or even state just so you can live close enough to the school you want to attend. The convenience of being able to study wherever you have access to WI-FI has great appeal to a lot of graduate students, and is one of the main reasons why so many sign up for online master's degrees and PhD programs. Flexible Scheduling Online graduate programs allow you to study and complete assignments at any time of the day, which is a prime benefit if you have a busy work schedule or if you are a parent or caregiver. This flexibility means that you can study and finish your homework assignments when it’s convenient for you, allowing you to create a schedule on your own terms. What’s more, some online graduate degrees even allow you to study at your own pace, enabling you to complete your program as quickly or as gradually as you want. This is particularly beneficial for people whose future schedules are uncertain, since it offers the freedom of being able to complete your work without the stress of impending deadlines and due dates. Anonymity Some students choose an online graduate program because they wish to remain anonymous as they complete their program. Perhaps they are completing their degree because they are hoping to switch careers (and don’t want their current boss to know) or because of their stage in life they would prefer to remain fairly anonymous while they study. Without a doubt, online graduate programs provide a lot of anonymity for their students. Although other students in the program will likely see your name, studying online allows you to focus entirely on the work at hand, without worrying about your reputation, which makes it a very private way to further your education. Advanced Computer Skills If your computer skills are a little rusty or just need to be worked on, an online program could help you to refresh and refine them. Nearly all online programs require you to have strong computing skills, and since you will be spending a great deal of time at your computer, it’s likely that simply working through assignments and other daily activities will help increase your mastery of the computer. Acquiring new computer skills or advancing existing ones will set you up for future success, as virtually all jobs for graduate students require advanced knowledge of basic computing practices. Studying online is likely to make you feel more confident with computer technology in general. Working Full Time If you are a parent, a primary caregiver or if you have a full-time job, the idea of going back to graduate school may seem unrealistic, even impossible considering your situation. However, the flexibility provided by online graduate programs enables many to hold down a full-time job as they study, with some even able to continue serving as the primary caregiver for their family while simultaneously pulling in a full time income and getting their graduate degree. Unlike brick and mortar programs, studying online provides the flexibility of being able to take classes and study any time that suits you, allowing you to fit your education around your existing schedule rather than being forced to let it take over your entire life. Cons: You May Feel Socially Isolated Although there will be opportunities for you to interact online with your peers, you ultimately won’t get the same social experience as you would if you studied at a brick-and-mortar school. If socialization is very important for you and something you really hope to get out of graduate school, then you may find an online graduate program to be a bit isolating or even lonely. However, if you already have a good circle of friends and are simply using your graduate program as a vehicle to further your skills and knowledge, then the lack of socialization shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you. You Must Be An Independent Learner To succeed in an online graduate program, it’s essential that you are an independent person. Although your instructor will be there to answer your question via email or in some cases by phone, you won’t get the same kind of one-on-one attention or guidance that you’d find with an on campus program. If you’re a natural independent learner and pick up on new concepts easily, then learning online should come naturally to you. However, if you struggle with incorporating new information, understanding unfamiliar concepts and figuring things out for yourself, then you might find learning online a struggle. This goes the same for organization, as it’s important that you are very well organized and have the self-discipline to organize your online learning schedule. Without good self-discipline, it will be extremely difficult for you to find success in an online graduate program. Ultimately, you should only enroll in an online program if you’re a fast learner, have an independent spirit and are self-disciplined enough to get things done on your own. Networking May Not Be As Effective If networking and developing important contacts is what you hope to achieve from your graduate program, then you may be disappointed by studying online. The independent nature of online programs means that you won’t get to interact as much with your peers, and you may even only take classes from a single professor throughout the entirety of your program. This could present a problem when it comes time to collect your post-graduation educational references and letters of recommendation. But it depends on what you think you’ll need. Most online programs won’t provide many opportunities for you to network or meet people inside your industry, so if that’s important to you, then be wary of this when you explore your educational options.] You Need Strong Computer Skills While an online program will enable you to develop new computer skills and advance the ones you already have, you may still need relatively advanced computing skills just to get started with your courses. If you’re completely computer illiterate, it’s fair to say that an online program probably won’t work out for you. Online graduate programs expect you to already know how to format word documents, submit assignments online and participate in online forums. If all of that sounds like a foreign language to you, you’re likely best sticking with a brick and mortar graduate program. There’s Still Some Stigma Unfortunately, there is still some negative stigma surrounding online education at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Although most of the major online schools are fully accredited and therefore just as valid as any on campus program, some people still think that online programs are easier than brick and mortar programs. Although this doesn’t count for everyone, and many people do regard online education as genuine and effective, you may come across some negative or at least suspicious feedback regarding your education if you earn your graduate degree online. The best way to combat this to make sure you’re attending a fully accredited online program from a respected institution, and to prepare yourself to handle the questions from skeptics after you’ve graduated. On-Campus Programs Pros: You’ll Get the Traditional Graduate School Experience If you’re looking for the traditional graduate school experience, where you get to dedicate your entire time to study and mingling with fellow intellectuals, you’re best bet in finding this is at a brick-and-mortar graduate school. At an on campus graduate program, you’ll get the opportunity to make new friends and even know your professors on a personal basis. Ultimately, in-person programs will allow you to enjoy much more socialization with your academic peers than you would find by studying online. For some graduate students socialization is irrelevant, but for many it’s of major importance to their overall graduate school experience. Note how you will contribute to life on campus. If you are about to leave for college, you may wonder how much time you might have for fun. The first year of college, students often struggle to balance their new-found freedom and the opportunities for partying with their desire to succeed in school. You need to know your limits! It is important to have fun in college but you have to balance that with the classes you must take and the study time you must invest if you want to do well. You might also like to know that too much partying can expand the waistline and affect a student’s ability to remember the information they took the time to study. All things considered, partying is something you will enjoy in moderation! If you have already had experience with alcohol, remember that hangovers are no fun. Drinking in moderation can be enjoyable, but drinking in excess is something for which you will pay the next day! Drink lots of water, take vitamins and try to get plenty of sleep on days when you are studying and going to class and on the days when you are going out to celebrate and party, be sure you know what your obligations are the next day, so you don’t miss critical appointments or classes. If you plan your party dates for days when you know you can sleep in and nurture yourself the following morning, you are not likely to be sorry you went to that party down the hall. If you want to go to a party but you don’t want to overindulge, just order a beer or a glass of wine and nurse it throughout the night. Remember that it is the socialization you probably want, and the alcohol may only be a way to cover your insecurity or your lack of confidence. If everyone else is drinking more than you are drinking, no one is likely to notice you are feeling insecure. Spread out your partying and celebrating so that you enjoy it more. Otherwise, it starts to feel like a routine and you are dangerously close to letting it become a habit for which you will pay when exams roll around and you are behind on classwork and studying. For those who want a list of the top party schools (either because they want to attend them, or because they want to AVOID them), here is the list for you: University of Texas Florida State University of Arizona San Diego State University of California, Santa Barbara Penn State Rollins College Alabama State Chico State UCONN Ohio State East Carolina University SUNY Oneonta SUNY Albany Ohio University Louisiana State University Montana State University, Bozeman University of Mississippi Southern Illinois University Clemson Providence College Wheaton College, MA Ithaca College Cornell Texas A&M University of Colorado Plymouth State College Purdue University of Dayton West Virginia University Vanderbilt Heidelberg College Baylor University of Central Florida UMASS Amherst Iowa State University of Delaware Westchester University, PA Loyola Stony Brook University George Washington University Le Moyne, College Buena Vista University University of Kentucky College of Charleston Georgia Southern University University of North Carolina |
